When other kids her age were headed to the mall, Olivia Gibson found her “niche” in business at the age of 15 during her participation in an Occupational Work Experience Program. Juggling her studies and a full time work schedule, Olivia played an integral role in helping to grow her branch of a national retail chain into the highest sales performer in the region. She cites this experience as the foundation for her continued passion for superior customer service.

 

After graduation, Olivia developed her leadership skills while serving her country as a Military Police Officer in the Ohio Army National Guard. The discipline of the National Guard helped further Olivia’s respect for process and structure; however, the most invaluable take-away from her time with military: the importance of remaining attentive to details. It is this personal emphasis that enabled Olivia to shine as a top performer at every position in her future.

 

Following her military service, Olivia started on the road to developing her expertise in Telecommunications starting out in B2B sales & marketing, specifically landline voice services and wireless voice & data services. This telecom newbie demonstrated such a superior customer service philosophy with top clients that she was promoted to lead a national training program requiring a rigorous travel schedule. What made Olivia stand out from other account reps was her firm belief in transparency over personal gain and her detail-oriented nature in educating clients on their options and supplying them with accurate quotes for service.

 

During the next few years, Olivia served as an Account Executive for two telecommunications firms where she was able to hone her Telecom and Broadband product expertise in servicing multi-location enterprises. Taking advantage of every educational advancement opportunity presented to her, Olivia was able to build on her expert knowledge of telecom products and services, such as VoIP, MPLS, CO Features and Functionality, and cost structures. As a top sales performer, Olivia was consistently promoted, serving as a National Accounts Executive where she had the opportunity to work with Fortune 500 companies, supporting corporations with 100+ locations.

 

Today, Olivia runs her own firm, Niche Business Consulting, which offers services in Telecom and Data auditing, consulting, and procurement. In the three years since Olivia started Niche Business Consulting, she has realized tens of thousands of dollars in financial savings for her clients. She is a highly respected professional in the NW Ohio/SE Michigan business community even receiving a nomination for the 2012 “20 under 40” Toledo Leadership Recognition Award.
